Purge Water
NOx reduction pumps and Purge Water pumps have two purposes. The are used on water injection skids to boost the pressure of power plant deionized (DI) water supplied into the compression stages of the gas turbine and to assist power plants with emission requirements. Injecting fully desalinated water into the gas turbine during combustion of fuel oil reduces the temperature in the combustion zone‚ which counteract the formation of nitrogen oxides (NOx).
Additionally‚ carbon deposits on a gas turbine's fuel injection nozzles will negatively impact the burner's performance. Pumps designed specifically for this application flush (purge) the nozzles and keep the fuel-oil premix and diffusion system clean. This ensures that the burners will continue running smoothly when switching over to natural gas.
Any transfer system providing injection into a turbine requires pulsation-free operation and uniformity to ensure and maintain stable combustion or prevent carbon deposit build-up. The TRITEC screw pump from ALLWEILER is designed specifically for this operation as well as to pump non-lubricating or poorly lubricating liquids such as deionized water.
